The Tunghai International College IBA Program, Global Leadership (GL) 3 class, and environmental protection club ICEPAC teamed up to bring an informative Earth Day event to campus on Friday, April 21, 2017. The event presented to the university the SSE students homemade fruit stall and pollution information board, which were placed between LAN and A building from 10am - 2pm for all to see as they made their way to and from class. The GL 3 course, Trends in Global Ecology and Environmental Change, had been studying food scarcity and the importance of eating fruit to both personal and environmental health. The students shared their knowledge with the campus by giving out free fruit and passing out colorful and informative flyers, and were always ready to give a cheerful explanation of the various fruits unique nutritional benefits. Meanwhile, the SSE students presented their air pollution information board, which will eventually become a permanent fixture outside the IC office. The board had some basic information about air quality and came with a sheet of fast facts that were passed out to people passing by the station. Overall, the IC Earth Day event brought knowledge, vital nutrients, and plenty of smiles to the members of the Tunghai Community while also emphasizing the International College commitment to an environmentally-conscious education.
